Jan Carlos Byl builds the systems that let regulated businesses scale. Over two decades operating inside compliance-intensive environments — regulated manufacturing, multi-site retail, GMP-grade biotech, ISO-certified laboratories — securing 17 operational licenses across 8 jurisdictions and directing 30+ facility buildouts with project budgets from $5M to $55M. When a founder comes to him with a concept or a single location, he reverse-engineers what it would take to run it at 50x — and builds backward from there.

Most recently: Chief Operating Officer of a 19-location biotech platform in Puerto Rico, executing a $2M+ infrastructure modernization, driving cGMP certification, and building the operational backbone for export readiness. That experience is the difference between advisory and execution. He has been on both sides of 25+ M&A transactions in regulated industries — as the operator who built and exited, and as the advisor who structured the deal and sat in due diligence. Most advisors have run one business or advised many. He has done both, repeatedly, at the same time.

Through his advisory practice, Jan Carlos has guided founders, multi-site operators, and institutional investors on more than $50 million in capital projects and regulatory initiatives across North America and Europe.
